HELP!!!

just came onto my imac, from sleep. its gone weird. all my files are still here... except the desktop ones they'e disappeared... my itunes is empty, my photobooth is empty, my mail client has no accounts on it, my internet browsers have none of my settings on them.

its really weird. like its a new computer all over again.

i don't know what wrong please can someone help me?!!! im really upset about it.

Try a more mac related forum like:

Also, I would see if you accidentally got switched to a new user account (find user accounts in the system preferences). Also I would be curious if maybe your hard drive is failing. How old is your machine and what is your model and os #. You could also try some mac os activity software.
