Just out of curiosity have you rebooted since uninstalling spybot?
James

Yes I have James, but no change. Those three lines you have are very true. :)

Thanks...bushisland

Are you running vista?
Which version did you install?
Have you checked if there is still a folder remaining under the program files folder (assuming you have XP)?

Hi James,

I have Vista Home Premium installed. I deleted the the SpyBot folder under programs files already. I even used SpyBot's small fix file off their link. It supposed to delete all remains in the registry. Something is still reporting it to Security Center as turned on.

Do you know if the original version that you had installed was not compatible with windows vista?
Did you use the teatimer function of Spybot search and destroy?
I'm going to try to replicate what you are experiencing, so that I may be able to assist you. Answers to the above questions will be helpful.

Current versions are, but do you know if the earlier version that you downloaded was vista compatible?

Hi James,

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe it was. I downloaded it in the 3rd. or 4th. week of September if that helps for dating the file version.

Hello James,

I finally got SpyBot out of my Windows Security Center. Turns out there is a bug in the uninstall program for Vista. After emailing the SpyBot team six times and trying different links, they came up with a tutorial link to manually delete the entry.

Anyways, I'm really writing to thank you and all the other people including Jacee for your help in solving my problem. Once again; thank you all. (with a smile) :)

Best Regards,
Bushisland

Hello Titan8990,

They said their uninstall program was not deleting the SpyBot entry from Vista Security Center. You can do it manually from this flash tutorial link. http://www.safer-net...o/overview.html .Just follow the instructions. :)

P.S The uninstall link is: http://www.safer-net.../uninstall.html

Best Regards,
bushisland
