ok, starjax, i will do all of that as soon as i return to the PC, which won't be until after the T-day holiday.

currently, the Office 2000 is uninstalled, as well as having removed all of Norton AV which had serious problems (as instructed in previous posts above). should i re-install the Office 2000 and download an anti-v program before running this 2006 tune up tool, or is that an issue?

thanks again so much for all your help!

better if you don't reinstall. That way it will have a good chance of cleaning it up.

hi there, starjax! due to circumstances beyond my control, it will be @ least another week before i'm able to get back to the PC that has these problems. if possible, can this thread please be left up for another couple weeks?

if it must be taken down before then, would you please let me know how i can easily find it again so that i may complete the needed work. thnx!
