My connection before getting a vista computer was 1000kb/sec on several downloads and internet pages loaded in seconds.

Now, on both of my laptops (The new laptop and the old one) the connection is 500 kb/sec. Has the connection been evenly distributed on the addition of a new computer? Should it do that?

I have a linksys WRT54G router with the latest firmware.

The new computer stats -

Dell Inspiron I1721
AMD Turion™ 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-56 1.80 GHz
1918 MB of ram.
32-bit operating system
WIndows Vista Home Premium

I thought the problem might be vista..?

By the way, I searched through all 7 pages of vista forum results for 'internet' and I haven't found any information. Maybe there's processes going on that vista doesn't need slowing down the connection?

Please give me any ideas or enlighten me!

Nevermind, I found out that signal was divided between the computers!
Thanks to anyone who looked, though. Maybe someone as computer illiterate as I will come across this and it can help them too. :)
