So my family uses laptops and we have no desktop computer. We also have a very large collection of music, videos, and other junk. Right now all of these things are sort of spread out amongst the laptops, and while we do share between computers, most of the time someone is out of the house with their laptop and therefore we don't have access to all of our files. What I'd like to do is buy something that has a large hard drive, which I can turn on, leave on, and store all of our files on. I am not sure what exactly I should be looking for. An external hard-drive? A server? I don't know very much about this sort of thing, and I'd appreciate any help.
