My USB ports suddenly stopped working> The camera (plugged into the side), and the printer plugged into the back. I have an ACER laptop Aspire 1500. Windows Vista Home Premium, HP Deskjet 1300 printer, and Razor camera phone. They worked fine until the day before yesterday.

Hello staley4ever and welcome to geeks to go!

I apologize for the extended wait. If you haven't resolved your issue yet, have you tried using system restore to a point before you started encountering the issue?

Regards,

Yes I have. Someone told me that windows automatic update downloads drivers and that may be causing the problem. However the PC says all drivers are working properly.

Check to see if any updates were made when you started experiencing the problems. You can look at the Windows Update History:
  • Click to Start | Control Panel | Classic View | Windows Update.
  • Along the top portion, click View update history.
  • Click Installed Updates
  • You can sort the updates by Name, Status, Type, or Date. You can also right-click each update and select View Details to access the details for that update.
