Hi all ;)
Recently I revived my old Compaq Presario 7000US by replacing the HD and loading Win 98. Previously it ran WinME but I couldn't get it to recover so I loaded the Win 98.
Anyways, for some reason I can't get any sound and when I check the device in the control panel it says it is not loaded or there is no driver. I tried 3 drivers for the sound card (I really have no idea what card it is... :tazz: I think it's one of the Sound Blaster cards). None of them worked...
Is there anything I can do to get sound on my comp. I'm out of ideas. Is there any software or drivers that I need?
Thanks guys ;)

I've tried that one already but it didn't seem to do anything. I'm really not too sure what to try at this point. Do you have any other suggestions?
Thanks for your reply.

first try right clicking, and removing it...then reboot

if you're lucky windows will findnstall the drivers...
it was not helpful that you installed several drivers for the same device

;)
In that case I'll try deleting any other drivers on there and if that don't work I guess I'll try the Ensoniq drivers. I don't really have much to lose so I may as well try.
If no good results then I'll buy the cheapest sound card at WalMart to get buy for a while. I was looking at THIS card... Only $26.54 :tazz:
I thank you all for the replies and help you gave. Great forum! ;)
