I hope nobody thinks I'm spamming, but I just saw this offer:
[removed link]

Has anybody else seen this? Has anyone tried it? It seems like a good deal to me, except for those who dislike the new 2007 version of Ad-Aware.

Seems like it falls in with all those others that offer free iPods, free laptops, etc., as long as you sign up for crap you really don't need that meet the requirements for receiving your "free" item :)

Agreed Major, I haven't really looked at what those other offers consist of. I'm not too sure you can before you are already signed up with TP. :)

If you really wanted to, you could just have a dummy system (or virtual) to do the lot, get your free program (or iPod, or whatever), then just delete and start again, good to go. If, of course, you could be bothered spending all the time doing what they want you to do instead of just working hard and earning the money to buy it :)

Our internet environment is filled with deceptive elements.
Examining those elements critically and bringing to light the issues can help us all.

It is easier to take the blanket negative position like I did in my posted reply, than to risk the ruckus that can arise from an open examination to sort the weeds out from the crops.

The link information should not have been allowed to be live until after the thorough examination and discussion, but the topic itself is a good learning opportunity for us all.

With the caveat about the link in mind, I respect that Ax238 raised the subject for consideration.
It does bear scrutiny here and in other venues.

It will be interesting to discover what additional information unfolds.

I think the old adage would be appropriate here, in relation to the topic in question:

If it seems too good to be true, it probably is!

Zorba, I'm not sure what you meant by the last comment. I believe Ax238 would be the last person to try and cast G2G in a bad light; although he's new to our staff, he is an extremely valued member who brings a lot of experience, and he's shown himself to be a loyal and trustworthy addition. If you meant this in the way that I interpret it, an apology is in order.

First of all,i don't know Ax238 at all, there fore i'm in no position to either condem or judge him.Neither do i accuse him of being disloyal or untrustworthy! If my my post was read or even understood otherwise,i do apologiese for that. I'm more confused than angry, people like me come to G2G for one reason,we don't know nothing about computers or fix our problem!Once i downloaded a reg cleaner recommended by one member, first of all it was totally useless(it scanned1165problems on a reformated hd) did not fix anything,i have to buy it first and last but not least,it took me months to finaly get rid of the e-mails they've been sending me!Ax238 knows that getting that"free offer" is not what it appears to be,why posting it here at G2G again? All it got here are bad reviews.
