Perhaps just to get different opinions? After all, this is a different forum, someone registered here (and not on the other forum) may have something interesting to contribute.Ax238 knows that getting that"free offer" is not what it appears to be,why posting it here at G2G again? All it got here are bad reviews.

I think that this is a good read, although I am a bit surprised its in an open forum. It raises questions about the intentions of the people behind this type of advertisment. As mentioned, one of the people involved with this company is also involved with Facebook, who has the wonderful Beacon program imbedded in its software. The average user probably has no idea what they are getting involved with in most cases.
I don't think there was any bad intentions from anyone involved with the original thread. If anything, its informative related to advertising methods (or schemes) and reminds us all about the rules for posting here

I did start something like this a long time ago, apparently I was going to get a "free" laptop, so I setup a gmail account and got started, but the details needed had me laughing. They wanted my full personal details (physical address - so they know where to post my free laptop, of course ), and I had to recommend 10 of my friends who all would fully complete the details and each recommend 10 of their friends and so on... And the last time I checked, the gmail account was still getting some messages asking me to finish off my details so I can move on to the next step so I can get my free laptop... Yeah right! I told them nothing!

Hi everybody! Just to clear matters up,my first reply to this topic was not ment to start a anti trust inquiry or accuse some body of any wrong doing!Doug's reply was making people aware of the dangers involved by replying to so called"Free offers".Speaking for myself, when you come to me with cartroubles,i look at the sparkplugs, listen to the engine, smell the exhaust-gas and i'll tell you whats wrong with your car!You know why?,because i'm doing it for the last 35 years and i'm darn good at it.Now when you get to know me and trust my judgement, any product i propose is good for your car, you'll believe me,based on trust!Where computers are concerned,i'm a total zero,i have to rely on the experts here at G2G.I've been loggin in as a visitor for many years and come to trust you people keeping us "computer illitered" from killing our computer by doing stupid things.Making us aware of dangers like internet fraud, malware&viruses and giving out (unaware)personal details to suspect offers or sites. Most of you people smell a spam\scam a mile of,just looking at the wording or any other clues only known to you!You know why?,because you're doing it for a long time and you're darn good at it!So when Ax238 posted the "free offer"threat,i went to check it out, only to find out that (to me)it looks moore like a trapp.I felt a bit confused that Axe238 did'nt seem to be aware of this. After reading the replys that followed i became even moore confused!I 've read the response and help given by Axe238 to many posts and i believe beyound any doubt that he is a valued member of G2G.He propably is aware of the danger involved by getting the "free offer",and his post was intented for the moore advanced user, who knows how to avoid any trapps. So please Axe238,think about us when you post! And when you ask us to jump,we'll only need to ask "how high"

I'm closing this topic, as I think the discussion is no longer productive. Zorba, while I understand that you're looking to us for knowledge, I think in this case Ax238 was also loking for insight on the validity of this offer. From what I know of him, he is the last person who would ever intentionally post something that is not an honest and legitimate offer. You could have used this as a learning exercise - while I think you did learn something from the posts, I still feel you unfairly blame him for trying to mislead people, and I don't feel that your response was at all warranted.
