Getting the most out of vista?

Well I'm a gamer and I demand lots of power from my system. But the problem lies in that only have a pre-built system with vista running on it, for now atleast. So I've been trying to getting every little bit of power from it that I can. Any suggestions?

Please clarify what you mean by "getting every bit of power" and "getting the most out of Vista".
What exactly is it you want to do and what sort of system do you have now?
