hi :)

Computer comes up with error on boot up.

What is the error?

I'm assuming you are using a different computer to transfer from? If so you will need to transfer the following over and run it on the infected computer

Download ComboFix from one of the locations below, and save it to your Desktop.

Link 1
Link 2
Link 3

Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log and a HiJackthis log in your next reply
Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while its running. That may cause it to stall

Still running very poorly. No internet connection still. Error that pops up after the windows boot screen is as follows.

"The instruction at "0x005F0406" referenced memory at "0x005F0406" The memory can not be "written".

After clicking ok numerous times the screen saver pops up with but explorer doesn't launch. I have to ctrl+alt+del and run new task to get explorer up.

Here's the HiJack This log:

hi :)

Please go into the Event Viewer and see what errors occurred at the time you get this error message.

Click START-->RUN and type EVENTVWR.MSC and hit ENTER.

Look under SYSTEMS AND APPLICATIONS for items with RED X's that happened at the SAME time as your problem...List them here.

Not sure if I did this right. But I checked what time it was when I started the system so the error that comes up came right around these two entries in the event viewer.

"The following boot-start or system-start driver failed to load: ftsata2"

"The STI simulator service failed to start due to the following error: System cannot find the specified file"

Sorry for the delay. A Family member was having surgery

OTMoveIt2 -

Please download the OTMoveIt2 by OldTimer.

  • Copy the file paths below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose Copy):

    C:\WINDOWS\mgrs.exe~
    C:\Program Files\rwlwbgdc
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\drvhas.dll

  • Return to OTMoveIt2, right click in the "Paste List of Files/Folders to be Moved" window (under the light blue bar) and choose Paste.

  • Close OTMoveIt2
If a file or folder cannot be moved immediately you may be asked to reboot the machine to finish the move process. If you are asked to reboot the machine choose Yes.

Download Dr.Web CureIt to the desktop:
ftp://ftp.drweb.com/pub/drweb/cureit/drweb-cureit.exe
  • Doubleclick the drweb-cureit.exe file and Allow to run the express scan
  • This will scan the files currently running in memory and when something is found, click the yes button when it asks you if you want to cure it. This is only a short scan.
  • Once the short scan has finished, mark the drives that you want to scan.
  • Select all drives. A red dot shows which drives have been chosen.
  • Click the green arrow at the right, and the scan will start.
  • Click 'Yes to all' if it asks if you want to cure/move the file.
  • When the scan has finished, in the menu, click file and choose save report list
  • Save the report to your desktop. The report will be called DrWeb.csv
  • Close Dr.Web Cureit. Please post the log with a new Hijack log
