My laptop has been acting fishy lately. I suspect that I may have some vicious malware as I've never encountered anything like this or ever had a serious problem with malware. When I move the cursor, it sometimes jumps to different areas of the screen at random. Also, I left my desktop at home connected to AIM using Trillian. When I turned on my laptop and connected to AIM using the AIM program, I got the usual message that said I'm connected at 2 locations at once but I also got a message from my own s/n that showed a bunch of unusual characters. I did not get these characters on my desktop. Notebook has been acting a little more sluggish that usual. Can you guys figure out whats wrong with my notebook?
Note: This laptop has not been the same since it last got fixed. From what I heard it was a pain to reinstall everything as the Dell installation CD did not work. Some applications could not be installed for some reason such as iTunes. What's strange is that Java applications did not work after the laptop was last fixed but would start working some time much later.

Note 1: Kaspersky AV could not be installed. It said something like I don't have access to some file called ks.sys located in C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers.
Note 2: When I go thru msconfig and click the startup tab, I noticed that there's a program called ctfmon.exe that's checked. Everytime I uncheck it and reboot, the box is still checked.
