I have a relatives Dell inspiron laptop that is running XP Media Edition. When I boot up normally and log in I keep getting the pop up balloon in the sys tray that states i have spyware and click here to remove. When clicked it brings up virprotect.com website. This infection has disabled me from getting into the taskmanager, control panel, and regedit. I could be disabled from more but just haven't ran across them yet. I also get tons of execution errors and then something tries copying a file but it gives and error too and I have to cancel or ignore it. When I boot into safe mode I still get the popup trying to direct me to virprotect.com but I do not get all the execution errors or exceptions. I ran hijack log and it is posted below.
Any help to get this back to normal w/ out reinstalling is going to be a lifesaver.
