Hello, I was told to check with the experts here before tampering with the entries listed below. I am running on Vista Home Premium and using IE 7.

The bottom two entries don't even have anything assigned to them, is it safe to delete them?

Also, there are two HP links that I never use below, are they safe to delete?

Thank you, if this isn't the right place for this log then let me know and I will delete it and put it in the proper place.

Yes they are safe to fix in HijackThis, however I see no reason why you would want to do this. They aren't effecting your PC in any way really.

The last two entries will probably come back when you reboot.

You should really only use HijackThis to fix malware to be safe. Do you have any more questions ?

Ahh it's you again, thanks for the help.

Well it seems as though I cannot remove any of the urls above that I do not use with hijack this, but I was able to find them in my registry.

It won't let me change them in the registry to a url I would use, so is it safe to manually delete them?

Are you asking is it safe to delete the above HijackThis entries ? If so, then yes it is.

I'm sorry, I wasn't very clear in what I said.

I mean when I delete them in HJT they come back, and I wanted to know if it was safe to delete them directly from the registry since HJT isn't cutting it. (or if there is another way I am unaware of)

That is my last question, I promise.

Thanks again.

Yes it should be safe to delete them that way. However lets make a backup of your registry before you attempt anything.

Backup Your Registry with ERUNT
  • Please use the following link and scroll down to ERUNT and download it.
    http://aumha.org/freeware/freeware.php
  • For version with the Installer:
Use the setup program to install ERUNT on your computer
  • For the zipped version:
Unzip all the files into a folder of your choice.
Click Erunt.exe to backup your registry to the folder of your choice.

Note: to restore your registry, go to the folder and start ERDNT.exe

Then try delete them from the registry yourself.

However there is a chance they will come back since they are legitimate.
