Hey,
I found out I had a virus on my computer wich opened an empty icon in my system tray.
I was able to delete 2 files but the last one just doesn't want to leave :-/
The file is C:\windows\system\system.ini
Yes, u saw that right :)
I don't get the WINNT folder and the osblabla file (A) :)
Does anyone know how to remove it?
Disabling system restore doesn't work (Unless rebooting works, I'm to tired to try that :))

Hi there and sorry for the delay, firstly as you have Vista I will need you to right click all the tools I ask you to run then select run as administrator

Please re-open HiJackThis and scan. Check the boxes next to all the entries listed below.

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [GNP Generic Host Process] C:\WINNT\system\svchost.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SNP Generic Host Process] C:\WINDOWS\system\svchost.exe

Now close all windows other than HiJackThis, then click Fix Checked. Close HiJackThis.

THEN

Download ComboFix from Here or Here to your Desktop.
  • Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
  • When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log and a HiJackthis log in your next reply
Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while its running. That may cause it to stall Be patient with combofix as it may take up to two minutes to initialise on Vista
