Dear All,
I have a problem, i downloaded search and destroy and ran it once and let it run over night.
in the morning, i deleted every thing that the program found. the computer then started to act funny so i restarted it and left to go to work.
i came home ten hours later and the computer had not finished restarting. it had shut down but was stuck hanging.

i can open it in safe mode. i went in and deleted S&D.

i can not do a system restore. i've tried and it says "please wait while the system is restored.." and nothing happens for hours. while there i noticed that there was a windows update downloaded the night before the trouble started, ie right after the search and destroy was downloaded.

i have tried to restart with last known config, i have tried to do a startup repair.

nothing seems to work

does anyone have any ideas what i can do?

thank you in advance.
