I fell for this stupid storage protector scam... it's this thing that displays very urgent error messages that claim something is horribly wrong with the registry and if you don't fix it now your computer could crash and be beyond help. The registry is perfectly fine, but I didn't know that at the time. A couple icons appeared on the desktop, and they said things like 'windows security' 'registry fixer' etc... So I clicked on one of those, and they led to a site (which seemed very legit) that said I should pay up $40 to get a nice little registry cleaner, while it's actually a virus in disguise... I installed the trial program, completely unaware of the troubles it would cause...

I was a bit suspicious about this whole storage protector deal, so I googled it and came up with a whole bunch of sites that said it was a trojan and whatnot.

Here I am now, the 2ND post I've made about this. (the first got exactly NO replies... >>)
My comp's been slow lately, and whenever i start up i always get about 100+ error messages mentioning something about sstrq.dll being a bad image... I've tried deleting sstrq.dll, and i just get error messages saying that it's missing, so then I put it back. OH, and Spyware Doctor DOES in fact find the Virtumonde every time I run it, but after I remove it, restart, run the scan again, and Spyware Doctor finds the same thing, I remove, restart, run the scan, there it is again... repeat, repeat, repeat. so Spyware Doctor really isn't much help;

here's my Hijackthis log;;
