I don’t mind Windows Vista however one thing bothers me is the fact that I have never seen Microsoft Replace an operating system with out some type of Windows splash screen in vista you get a progress bar. I wonder if they are ever going to fix this. :)

There never has been anything that even resembles a progress bar in the loading screens of any recent Windows operating system, with the exception of Windows 2000. The bars in XP and Vista are not progress bars - just animations that loop over and over to show you it hasn't fell over.

I'm sorry I stand corrected; you are right about the animations! The main thing I’m talking about is the logo for an example in XP you have the windows XP symbol.
Thank you for pointing out my mistake. Neil. :)

You can certainly customize your "splash" screen.

check out these great tutorials from VistaX64

BootScreenChange

LogOnScreenChange

I use the Vista Secure and the Lightening "splash" screens, and I have my own custom LogOn Screen.

Thank you all for the posts. I have read that the main reason that MS did not have a logo was due to it "slows" boot time. I was just looking for why they did this not really wanting to put one on... I did some research to find out why…

Thank you all so much…

Logos make no difference to a computer's boot time - they're all the same format, sizes and colour depths as they have been since the days of Windows 95. The hardware available (and the state of said hardware) makes a big difference to a computer's boot time.
