my computer is filled with junk and i'm unable to run any programs i have bought...when i try to run system restore, i get and error message saying: " There was an unexpected error: The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect. (0x8007007B) System Restore will now close. Any ideas? {btw...i wanna start from scratch but vista cd was NOT incuded with PC when i bought it (pls don't tell me to buy another cos i'm a poor student,lol)}.................Ok, just realised i actually have no restore point for some reason, anyway i can revert all software to when i first bought the pc??

Hello skilsaw,
Would you please tell me the make and model number of your computer?
The computer may have a recovery partition that will reset everything back to the way it was from the factory.
If it does not have a recovery partition than the manufacture may offer recovery discs for a small price (around 15-20USD).

The 'restore to factory settings' is exacltly what you want.
This will restore your computer back to when Vista was first installed.
It will be like you just brought it home from the store.

ok, rebooted...pressed f10 and it went into a command prompt screen. Last time, there was already a command there but this time it was blank. Have you any idea what command should be there or if not,any idea how else to get the 'restore to factory settings' option?

Never had that happen.
Try typing; restore, recover, run, etc...

Have you tried to boot normaly?
It sounds like the restore has been performed.
Boot normaly, and go to the start menu.
Look for recovery, or restore options.
See if it will allow you to make a set of recovery disc.
