Not sure if this is a Vista thing or not but maybe some of you have experienced the same thing. A friend of mine got a new Dell Inspiron 530 w/Vista. He is connected to a broadband modem. At any given time while on IE7 or Outlook, he will lose the internet connection and has to reboot computer to reconnect.

The modem seems to be functioning during the disconnected period and this problem did not exist with his XP machine. The funny thing is that he is able to maintain a connection sometimes for an hour during a big file download and then lose it after ten minutes when he is surfing or doing email.

He was talking to a lady the other day who has the same thing happening with her Vista.

So what do you guys and gurls think is going on?

More likely a provider issue, contact them first.
