I have a new desktop with Vista. I haven't had any trouble with it until today. Suddenly I am unable to open or save from my email. The file, whether it's a .pdf, .jpg, .doc, looks like it's going to open and then just disappears. If I try to save it, I get to browse and choose where I want it to save and it starts saving, but before it completes, it just goes away. The only thing that is different is that my internet security expired so I installed AVG free. I did shut down and restart my computer. But it still does it. Any help out there?

Are you using an e-mail client such as outlook or using a webinterface such as gmail?

No, I have two web-based email accounts. I can't save or open from either.

You should check weither your web-based e-mail url's are added to the trusted sites in your internet explorer settings

Tools - Internet Options - Security - click trusted sites and then click 'Sites'

In there you will be able to enter the url of your web-based email and it should be fine.

No dice. I added the url to both of my email accounts and it still doesn't work. I did get an odd message that I could only add urls that have the https:// prefix because it assures a secure connection. I disabled that so that it would allow the url and it still won't open the attachments. I even tried a gmail account and no luck. It won't open or save attachments from there either. I disabled my pop-up blocker just in case and it still doesn't work. It gets almost through the saving or opening process every time and then at the very end, right before it opens up, it just disappears.
