Hi Everybody.

I had a virus or malware on my system which uninstalled Internet Explorer.
My machine is now clean but I cant seem to reinstall I.E. or any other software
for that matter. It just keeps freezing @ 27% of the installation process. I have
left it running there for hours to see if it would progress any further. I
have also tried using different installation Cd's with I.E.
It is an "E Machine" running Windows ME with a Pentium Processor.
Can anybody help me?? I need my browser back. I had to send this from a
friends PC.

hi webster,
Thank the Lord that Your IE is lost! Jus kidding!
I would advise you to go ahead and install Mozilla's firefox an excellent browser which is more secure than IE.It has a lot of features too.
you can download it from
http://www.mozilla.o...oducts/firefox/
most people in this forum suggest using Firefox than IE when it comes to security.it's very small and just sizes 4.7 MB.

But, you need IE for windows updates, so simply dismissing the lack of the ability to install it is unwise.

If you could say what method you are using to reinstall ie first, we may be able to pinpoint the answer
