About 6 weeks ago, WMP 11 (Vista) stopped streaming music from websites. Been through the tech support for the websites and from Dell, but no luck. At one point received the attached error message, so it look slike WMP cannot access the internet. Checked all the boxes to be sure it could, but still no result. Plays music files on the hard drive just fine. Would like to avoid having to "restore to factory settings" if at all possible.

Thanks for whatever you can do.

do you mean it stops streaming but will ask you to download instead? I had a similar issue after installing iTunes - had to register the wmp.dll file again...

EddyOS,

No, it doesn't ask to download; it just "sits" there, apparently not able to access the internet stream. How did you register the wmp.dll file?

Thanks.

open a command prompt as an administrator and type 'regsvr32 wmp.dll' (without the quote marks)...it should say it's registered so close everything down and reboot and see what happens...

Ran it under the Search function, and system responded that it had been successful, but - alas - no change.

Thanks for the good effort.
