my girlfriend has a router at home so she can access the internet wireless with her laptop and wired with her family pc

however the connection to the ISP seems to be dropping randomly, she has a Belkin router, could this be a problem with the router or her ISP?

all suggestions appreciated :)

Cheers, Jim

Could be both things but on most cases it's related to router's issues.
Can you access the router's web setup when the Internet connection is lost?
Have you tried connecting to the Internet without the router (ie. connecting a computer directly to the Internet) ?

can access the router setup at all times, i'm thinking that it's a problem in the routers' configuration somewhere that relates to the web interface on it

Have you tried resetting the router to factory defaults?
Before doing that try connecting a pc to the Internet without using the router, just to make sure if the issue is with the ISP or the router.
