Say that I have a machine that has some kind of virus problem that hasn't been identified and that since I found out that there was a problem I have been keeping it unplugged from the network and internet as much as possible and I do and I have been. Then say that I wanted to go online and play a game from that PC but since I'm not sure what kind of Malware that it has on it I'm not sure if someone that shouldn't have access to it actually does have access to it. How can I use that PC to play on and still be sure that someone isn't rummaging through my files or that send mail isn't spamming the heck out of people?

I'm skeered to play from the one that I'm on because launching the game from the other one is what started all this crap...or at least was the final piece of the puzzle that brought it all together and started the downloads.

Ideas, advice?

I have a thread in the malware section. I'm waiting to try whatever they tell me that I need to before wiping the drive and starting over. It's very slow going though and I have searched out files and registry settings and all that trying to figure out what the problem is but at this point I'm at a loss.

I can't even figure out where I got the virus at. I don't download stuff unless I'm sure of where it came from. I don't go to high risk or questionable web sites. I keep antivirus and spyware up to date and I run a full virus scan on both PCs every day as well as a full scan for spy ware everyday. Usually once a month or so I run an online scan for things that my antivirus software doesn't pick up. Since 94 I have had 3 virii on my PCs and this is the first one that I haven't been able to get cleaned up on my own.

Looks like your virus issue was resolved a couple of days ago. Great work to both you, and Loophole!

See you in training. :)

Oh I'm not in the training program anymore. I was a couple of years ago but at the time I just didn't have time to devote to doing all of the exercises and so I had to drop out. Thank though. :-)
