Problem started a couple of days ago, not sure if it is a malware problem or related to the Windows SP3 update that was incompatible with my system. I tried to install SP3 update, system would not even boot up after, had to boot in safe mode and restore. Seems like since then, I have an issue with a pop-up that would turn up for just a split second, then disappear. I could not see what the pop-up said. Now it seems like the pop-up is not even showing itself but continues to cause problems. If I have an application window open and am working in it (i.e. typing, etc), the window will go idle as if another application or window has opened, the cursor disappears, and I have to manually click back into the window I was working in to regain control. For example, this has occurred 5 times in the span of typing this post, so is very aggravating! I've tried scans with various applications, which did find some trojans that have since been deleted. I had the Mcafee security center running previously, but have since uninstalled and now have Avast running instead. I know I have a lot of loose ends from previous programs probably still lurking about. Anyone have an idea what to try next? I have followed all the procedures in the Must Read before Posting instructions.
