i turn on the computer and error shell.dll is missing and says reload may fix the problem were do i go to reload the problem or how do i fix this

I would run the system file checker. You can do this by putting the Operating System CD in the drive and then click Start - Run "cmd" without the quotes, click OK. This will bring up the command prompt window, from there type in "sfc /scannow" without the quotes and press Enter. This will perform a check for all system files and replace all that are missing or changed. This should fix your problem.
