The Specifications:

Processor: AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3400+ 2.39 GHz
Memory (RAM): 2.00 GB
OS: Vista Ultimate x86

The problem:

Computer becomes unresponsive to any user input. If any media is playing, the audio will stutter in a loop. To return the computer in a responsive state, it is required to forcefully shut-down (power-off) the computer. Seemingly occurs at random; sometimes doesn't occur for days. The problem seems to be unlinked to the amount of system resources being used. Nor does it consist within a series of applications.

My Thought:

I severely doubt this is a malware problem. My guess is that it related to the hardware malfunctioning. I have ran many scans through-out different anti-malware applications, all of which suggest that the system is clean.

I would first try and install the latest drivers for your video card and sound card. It could be nothing more than a driver issue.

It seems it was from built-up static. I fixed the problem, thanks for your input.
