I had a Windows XP PC, and I was playing wowscape on it for a couple of weeks. Suddenly, one day, I was unable to connect to the Wowscape server, or their website (www.wowscape.net). At first a message would appear after starting the game that a WoW has detected a trojan. It was called "Win.32. Downloader Agent variant." So searched the web to find a solution. I downloaded an antivirus software, Avast!. I was able detect several virus's and a single trojan. After several tries. I was finally able to delete them. Still, I was unable to connect to WoWscape website or server. So, I said, "Screw it. I'm getting a new computer next week."

A week later, I got a new computer, put it together and installed Windows Vista. I also backed up some data from my older computer and put it on the new machine. Then I installed WoW, updated it to 2.4.3.0, set the realmlist, and started the game. STILL, I could not play the game, and message about the trojan appeared again. I installed Avast! on the new machine and killed the trojan again, which had obviously followed the back up data from the older computer. After killing the trojan, I started the game up again. This time there is no message, but I still can't connect to wowscape server. I have tried the website too, with no luck.

If your thinking, "The website is down, and server is down," think again. I can go to my cousins computer, who is connected to the same isp as I am (via a router), and he is able go to the WoWscape server and website with no problems. It can't be the router either, because I have even took my computer to a different house and tried it.

I hope this is fully clear. If you need more info. about my problem, and you want to help me (and I hope you do), ask me and tell me how to get this info. if it requires any computer skills beyond the level of intermediate. Thank you.

Please go to the malware forum and follow the instructions at the top....Especially the CLICK HERE.

That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the process you are still having difficulty--and you may not be-- then post a hijackthis log in THAT forum.

If you still need assistance, after getting a clean bill of health by the malware team, please post back to this thread.
