After a failed hard drive in my HP dv6000, I purchased a new Toshiba drive and installed it. Now when I boot the computer to install Vista on the blank drive, nothing comes up on the screen at all. No cursor, no graphics, no menus. I can hear the new hard drive spinning as well as the DVD drive but nothing happens.

Am I doing something wrong, or is this a failure with another part of the computer. Thanks.

Hello,
Reseat the memory (RAM) and check your video cables.
