Is THIS the driver you tried?

Just curious, but what did you use for a keycode to get Vista to install? Also, did you activate it yet?

Then, I wouldn't worry to much as Vista will stop working in less than 30 days because you can't activate.

You have no choice other than calling Acer and getting the proper cd's for your system.

Also, as your install, as it stands, cannot be activated and due to the fact you are used your sisters cd and key code, you are, in effect, using an illegal install of Vista.

They vary depending on what version you get. Just check around at the local shops or online.

Try searching Newegg or some of the other online stores.

Or, have you checked in your neighbourhood computer supply stores?

With Vista, you don't need to buy a full version. Upgrade will do.
Amazon - $95: http://www.amazon.co...s...p;x=15&y=17
newegg - $123: http://www.newegg.co.......p;x=13&y=35

Without owning a license for Windows 2000 or XP on the computer you wish to upgrade, the Upgrade Editions of Vista cannot be legally installed. :)

Luckily, the full, legal version of Vista Home Premium is just a few dollars more ($100):

64-bit version (If you have or plan to have 4GB of RAM or more.)

32-bit version (If you don't ever plan on having 4GB of RAM or more.)

I was definitively unclear. I should have said, "IF you own XP, or 2000 license, you can perform 'clean" Vista install with an upgrade DVD", but the prices, you just posted....forget it.
