[Anathema]

This honestly happened randomly. I had had the computer brand new and after 4 weeks it started throwing that error. I don't know why, what it is, or how to fix it. If anyone could help me I would appreciate it.

I dunno if a HijackThis log will help, but here's one anyway

I feel like I have a lot of stuff running that I don't want running.. and a lot of stuff installed that shouldnt be too. As I got this new, I still don't know whether or not half of the stuff is used by the actual computer .

I've tried to disable and even block things starting with the control panel, and even my firewall (like bonjour.exe and ituneshelper.exe) but they ALWAYS run again within 2-3 days .

I searched but found nothing on STI. I was told it's a part of Vista by someone?
I tried reinstalling my Nvidia GE force 8500 driver twice, but it did nothing.

Lets see if you have any errors in the event viewer.

• Go to Start -> Run.
• In the Box, type in "eventvwr".
• When the window pops up. Go to the system log and application log.
• Look for red circles with "X"s in them around the time of error.
• Once you've opened the error press the button to the right with the 2 papers on it. (under the 'down' arrow)
• Please attach the information you just copied onto your next reply.

Lol there is no Start > Run, it's Start + R on Vista (I googled it)

I don't know how to work these logs, they arent the same as XP and I'm kinda lost

You want XML stuff? I don't know what to do or even how to read these.. they arent like XP at all

I'm sorry, I didn't realize you had Vista
EDIT: I did a silly, this is of-course the vista/windows 7 forums.

In the eventvwr Expand "Windows Logs".
Select "Application" Then take a look at the menu to the right.
Select "Save Events As", Save it to a location you can remember under the name "Application_Anathema"
Please do the same with the "System" log, but name it "System_Anathema"
Then please attach those 2 logs to your next reply.

I'm sorry for my delay, I had some things to take care of
Box.net is fine I just gave a quick alternative

the STI driver (VM_STI.exe) seems to be related to a USB camera software.
if you have a USB Camera installed, try re-installing that software.

Hey

The CD that came with it was basically a software bundle... apparently it doesnt come with drivers?

How can I uninstall the driver that the camera installed? Maybe I can reinstall it when the camera plugs in (cause that's how it installed the first time)?

The steps below will help you remove the driver.

• Go to Start and open Run.
• In the Box, type devmgmt.msc.
• Look for the following or related: Camera (It might also be listed under the camera's name)
• Right click that device and select Un-install

Do I need to plug it in or something first?
