I have been using Mozilla Firefox 3.0.5 without any trouble until it recently updated when opened. The update crashed for some unknown reason, and firefox will not open any web pages ever since. It says "Failed to connect. Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at www.google.com. Though the site seems valid, the browser was unable to establish a connection.

* Could the site be temporarily unavailable? Try again later.
* Are you unable to browse other sites? Check the computer's network connection.
* Is your computer or network protected by a firewall or proxy? Incorrect settings can interfere with Web browsing."

Internet Explorer works fine. I downloaded Opera and it had the same problem as firefox. I have tried all suggested fixes, including temporarily disabling my firewall, checking proxy settings and their compatibility with IE's settings (both use no proxy), full uninstall including deleting mozilla files via regedit. Reinstalling did not help. I have also done a full reset on my modem to no avail. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
