Hello All,

Hopefully someone can help me. I downloaded a game that must have been infected b/c my Symantec Anti Virus immediately began triggering errors, my desktop flashed a few times and my toolbar was resized. Since that time I keep getting two popups one that appears to be a Windows Virus Center notification and a second that is something like Spyware Guard 2008. My IE and firefox search doesn't really work, the pages are blank and if I do get results I usually can't click on the link...it takes me to a blank page.

I've tried deleting the files from the task manager and deleting the spyguard software from the registry to no avail. Symantec noted I needed a reboot to clean, which I did but the software came right back.

As of now I've tried downloading the following but they I am not able to get any of them to run, I get a "corrupt" error message. Specifically hijack this downloads with no extenstion...I've even renamed it both before and after install and it will not run.

I found a similar thread on here that recommended running combo fix which I was able to download but it will not run with Symantec scanning. I'm in safe mode and I do not see where this process is running, additionally the option within symantec to disable real time scanning is grayed out.

Please advise.

Thanks
