Hi Clifford, and welcome! 
Ink jet heads are very tiny, and easily plugged if not used for a while. Have you tried the head cleaning function of your printer? It may require multiple tries.
If this doesn't work, I think the smartest move is a new printer. Ink jet printers have become disposable, in that a replacement will likely offer better performance at a lower price than repairing yours.
