Hey there!

I got this computer a few weeks ago and it has already given me the same bluescreen around 15 times or so. The device driver got stuck in an infinate loop. No files are specified and the bluescreen does not stay up long enough to write down all the numbers, it is fairly random when it bluescreens but there are several ways to make it more likely such as resuming from a hibernate...

I have WinAudit so i can seen you an audit report if you need the computer specs...

running:

Windows Vista 64-bit Home Premium
SLI ATi Radeon video cards
4gb memory
466gp hard drive
Intel duo core 3ghz processor

Infinite loop errors can be caused by quite a few things. Things such as dodgy drivers, dodgy graphics card, dodgy motherboard, dodgy RAM etc etc.

First things to try are:

Updating your drivers (uninstall the existing ones before installing new ones). Drivers can be downloaded from the manufacturers website.

Test your RAM with Memtest86+.

Yes it is, and I haven't called them yet... I heard they would want me to send it back so they could reinstall the operating system, and wanted to try fixing it myself first...

If there is something wrong with almost brand new computer, you have to always worry about what will happen, when the warranty expires, a year from now.

In any case, navigate to C:\Windows\Minidump, zip all .dmp files, and attach zipped file to your next reply.

Yeah, we definitely have video problem here.

We have:
DEFAULT_BUCKET_ID: GRAPHICS_DRIVER_FAULT
and dxgkrnl.sys file is listed at fault in every stop error.
dxgkrnl.sys is part of DirectX Graphics Kernel, but this is what is listed at the moment of the crash.
Since atikmdag.sys file is mentioned, I'd suspect video card causing dxgkrnl.sys crash.
You updated card driver, so we either have overheating problem, or bad card itself.

Are you doing anything in particular, when BSOD occurs?

Download, and install SpeedFan: http://www.almico.com/sfdownload.php

Provide processor info (hold Windows key, and hit Pause/Break key to find out).

Monitor those temps for a while, and see, if they change (especially temp1, which is your video card).
Try to play some game, or watch DVD, and see how temp1 behaves.
