I am Vista Basic Home edition. I just downloaded Oregon Trail 4th Edition for Windows XP and the game is telling me fatal error application exit. "Your resolution must be set to high color ( 16 bit)before starting OT". I think I have that already because I watch movies on my PC all the time. Advice please.

I posted this to the Microsoft Vista help forum with no response. Can anyone help me? I appreciate it.

Resolved in live chat.

To set the color setting to 16 bit in Vista, right click on the desktop and choose "Personalize"...click the "Display Settings" link at the bottom of the resulting window. In the "Colors" dropdown menu, choose "Medium (16 bit)" and apply the change.
