OK, I'm new here. *lol* I have some badground in the I.T. field but I've not be active in over 7 years so I'm extremely rusty. *lol*

I recently went to broadband about 2 weeks ago and hadn't been having any issues. I am currently running AVG 8.5.285 Free version, I had been running an older version of McAfee that had elapsed, for note of reference. In the past couple of days pop ups had started to come in and AVG had never detected anything wrong. I know that pop ups are common when not running pop up blocker which I had been, obviously it was part of McAfee though.

This morning though AVG popped up a list of "infections" that all resided in the "C:\WINDOWS\system32\" folder. Knowing that this is a VERY DANGEROUS place to mess with, I left it alone but then I noticed that I wasn't able to open my MySpace page to access my Inbox there. I shut down the messenger and then tried to re-start but it wouldn't. I assumed that maybe the system resources were extremely low and so I shut the system down to cycle back up and "refresh" the system. After the system came back up, I entered my password and the system loaded as normal. Then up popped a Windows message starting:

Error loading C:\WINDOWS\system32\guzahune.dll
The specified module could not be found.

I then went back did a System Restore to a week ago but the file was not replaced. I did yet another System Restore to about the first of the month but the file still was not replaced. So now whenever I start up my system and it starts loading, I'm greeted by the above message.

For reference, since about the time of the pop ups starting which was the day before this issue occurred, I've noticed that my hard drive is running in a "beeping" rhythm, not to mean it's literally beeping but it hits continually for about half a second then stops and then does it agin and again. I've no idea if this is related but thought it odd that it started at the same time. The system, though I've not really got to mess with alot, maybe 20 minutes, seems to to running OK once I click past the above message.

OK, is the "guzahune.dll" a legit .dll file and if so, how do I get it back to where it should be? I've checked the Recycle Bin, it's not there. *lol* Ifthis is not a legit .dll, then what's still trying to load it that's causing the message and how do I get rid of it?
