I have installed a fresh copy of Vista Home Premium, after getting messages about counterfeit and being on the phone with Microsoft ( oh my goodnes gosh! ) for over 3 hours. They gave me a new product ID after finally realizing that my copy is legit. However, after having installed a fresh copy on a clean, formatted hard drive, I must have the installation CD in the machine to get into the program. I get a message to put in the original disk. Once this is done, my operating system works. How can I correct this problem..?????

I'd suggest trying one of these free programs
- Vista Boot Pro (available here: http://www.vistabootpro.org/ )
- EasyBCD (available here: http://www.neosmart.net/dl.php?id=1 )

This will allow you to reset the Boot Configuration Data (BCD) so that you can boot from the hard drive rather than the DVD. In the case that something is damaged, you may have to post back here for more assistance (I'm not all that familiar with BCD)
