Can anyone help with my dilemma? A few months ago, my computer started getting the BSOD (blue screen of death) and crashing, and in the small window of time I have to read the error message before the computer shuts down completely, it says something about "tcpip.sys"....I am led to believe this is corrupted, and would love for someone to officially diagnose this and recommend a solution.

Thank you so much!

Navigate to: C:\Windows\Minidump folder.
If you see any .dmp files, zip all of them, and attach zipped file to your next reply.

The minidump file (zipped) is attached...NOTE: I tried attaching a .zip file of all of them back from 8 months ago, but it was too big (1.1 MB)...Therefore, these are only for the last week, a week in which my computer crashed over 50 times. Thank you so so so much!

All errors come from KmxFilter.sys, which is a part of CA Internet Security.
Do you have it installed?

Also, where do I go from here?

Go Start>Run, type in:
devmgmt.msc
Click OK.

In Device Manager, go View, click on Show hidden devices
Non-Plug, and Play Deivce folder will expand.
Find following drivers:
KMXFW, KMXCFG and KMXCV
In each case, right click on the entry, click Properties
Click Driver tab, and change Startup type from whatever it is now to Demand.
OK your way out.
Restart computer.

tcpip.sys is likely to be showing because the CA program is attempting to connect to the internet. Because it's corrupted it's attempting to send bad signals (either to tcpip.sys or through it), which confuses tcpip.sys. This confusion is what causes tcpip.sys to crash.

Hi,
I have been facing this same BSOD issue for the past month. I tried your method but the drivers you mentioned in your post don't show up on my list.
I am attaching the screenshot of the device list. Any idea what I am doing wrong?

Thanks in advance for your help,
Sam

I has the same problem! I have CA firewall installed. then when i used filezilla ftp client or entered my cPanel of my website, i got a bluescreen!

The error message said driver_irql_not_less_or_equal and i got a tcpip.sys and kmxfilter.sys error scripts.

So i had my girlfriend go online and google it, she found this thread, read off the solution, to open devmgmt.msc and fix the kmx files to demand and it worked when i restarted!

You guys rock man!
