I had a WD 120GB drive as a slave in my computer. I was transfering a lot of files to the drive one day, and it crashed the computer.

On restart the drive spins up, but after 20 secs there is a click, click, click, sound and the drive is unrecognizable.

I pulled the drive and put it in an external drive case, and then plugged into another computer. It will boot up for about 20 secs and I can occasionally grab files off it. I let it run overnight in the external drive, but only with power, there was no usb connection, and the drive seems to be running good w/o the clicking sound.

Could a virus or some bios settings be making it screw up?
