I actually have home premium OS installed as in the factory settings....My friend gave me a window 7 ultimate which he said is better..so i installed it...But now i want to downgrade to home premium which is my factory settings using my driver CD provided, model NEC.... But after i installed this window 7 ultimate, i follow instruction on how to restore to factory setting which is F8 on start up > repair your computer >select preferred keyboard layout>log on as local user > then select NEC Recovery tools...BUT now my NEC recovery tools selection which is on the menu once is missing and now i cant restore my computer to its original factory state....Can any1 help me on is there anyway to restore it back to once i bought it....?

If I am correct the "restore to factory setting" that you are talking about, is just for the BIOS. The only way to get Windows Vista back would be to re-install Vista completlly. It looks like you installed Windows 7 over Vista.

Just find your Vista disk and pop it in to install it.

I wonder if your recovery partition was deleted when you installed Win7.
To check, go to Start and type in "diskmgmt.msc" (without the quotes) and press Enter
Let us know the information under the Volume, File System, and Capacity headings.

If this is the case, you'll have to obtain system recovery disks from NEC to restore the hard drive to it's factory shipped condition.

This looks like the recovery partition - but where's the rest of your hard drive? Does it show anything else other than the 9.77 gB recovery partition?

I'd suggest looking at the manual for your system and seeing what steps are required to access the recovery partition. In some cases it's just a key stroke - in others it requires a recovery disk to access the partition (HP and Gateway do this sometimes).
