Have you set your default mail client in the default programs?

I did. I used this fix: http://tiny.pl/3qng (Method 1). It brought back the Mail Recipient entry to the send to. BUt when I try to use it, it says I must assign a default program. So when I assign it to Thunderbird it than goes bye bye?

My copy of TBird works fine and I have the Send to...Mail Recipient. This is both on Vista and Win7.
So, I'm wondering if there's an issue with your copy of TBird.

First, I'd suggest disabling all the add-ons that you have. That may prove easiest.

If that doesn't fix it, backup all your settings, email, etc (I've used this free tool once: http://mozbackup.jasnapaka.com/ ), then uninstall it, then completely remove TBird folders (both from the user profile and the Program Files folders). Then install a fresh copy.

Test it BEFORE importing your stuff. If it works, then import your stuff and see what happens. If it disappears when you import your stuff, then it's likely that something that you added is interfering with it's display.
