I cannot open iTunes store

I use a Mac and had no problems. It recently died and the tech guy where I work installed a new hard drive and the new operating system (Leopard). I just restored my iTunes library yesterday but I still can't get into the iTunes store - it says the connection has timed out. I have searched other forums and tried solutions (looking at firewalls, changing parental controls) and nothing has worked. Any ideas oh wise ones?
