You can't use regular USB cable. You may actually damage computers by doing so!

I understand. I guess a place like best buy might have a drive enclosure? If the good computer then does not see the hard drive, I should replace it? I know that is a dumb question, but I ain't the brightest bulb on the block :)

I'd simply call around. I'm not sure what stores you have around your place.
If working computer won't see the drive, I'd assume, it's dead.

Ok my friend....if i do wind up buying a new hard drive, can you walk me thru installing vista on it?

Reinstalling Vista should be a breeze, since I can see you have recovery DVD(s).
You'll pop the 1st DVD in, restart computer, boot to DVD, and follow on-screen instructions.
