It all started when I borrowed my friend’s pc while mine is being sent to the service centre.

The worst part of it was that I ended up having to clear those infections that she had on her pc.

Her Mcafee trial subscription had already expired and her pc was infected.

I scanned it with Avast. It found nothing

Secondly, I scanned with Malwarebytes.
It found this: Files Infected:
C:\Users\Public\Favorites\NginuL_na.exe (Worm.AutoRun) -> Delete on reboot.

I then scan it with DrWeb the 3rd time.
This time it found this:
mcinst.exe;C:\Program Files\Common Files\McAfee\Installer;Probably BACKDOOR.Trojan;Moved.;

Cannot believe that Mcafee is in fact a Trojan Installer itself!!

I am having a hard time trying to remove Mcafee Security Center.

Before all those scanning, I actually intended to delete the whole Mcafee program but ended up only deleting the anti-virus, parental control etc, keeping behind the Site Advisor and Security Center.

I then downloaded and installed AVAST on the pc.

After this, I went to control panel to uninstall mcafee’s site advisor and security center but these 2 failed.

I tried using CCleaner, it also failed.

I went into safe mode to delete. It did not help either.

I even went into the program files\Mcafee.com\Agent to delete .adf file
Uninstallation failed too.

I then opened the Mcafee Security Center window and was surprised to see that one of the items which was previously already seeking for attention IS NOW UNDER PROTECTION!
Computer and files are being protected now.
Beside it, it shows the following:
These services are protecting your computer and files

I believe this can be the reason why mcafee security center(which include site advisor and security center itself) could not be uninstalled

Here’s the Link:

• Virus Protection
The reason being that I had installed AVAST and it just
overrided what is inside there.

• Spyware protection
Windows defender installed version 1.1
(regretted updating this as it ended being reflected inside security center as well!)

I had already switched off windows defender real time protection and disabled the security center alert warning notification in Vista
But still cannot manage to uninstall the program!

• Windows Protection &

• PC health

I would be grateful if you could let me know how to remove Mcafee Security Center

Thanks that really helps to uninstall mcafee security center.

I have installed the belowmentioned programs in the pc.
AVAST - Anti-virus
SpywareBlaster
Super AntiSpyware
Malwarebytes AntiMalware
Dr Web (This is one of my favourites as it seems to catch most of the infections while AVAST does not seem to catch most of them)

Is it necessary to install so many antimalware and antispyware programs in the pc.? Will it create any conflicts?

They should be happy together especially if Dr Web is only used as an on demand scanner :) Superantispyware could quite easily be replaced by MBAM as that is now getting to be top of the pile
