Hello,

Firefox is my browser of choice. However, I've noticed that I have problems with it freezing when I go to upload an attachment to my Yahoo email. This only seems to happen when I've had Firefox open for several hours, like say more than 2 or 3 hours, so this is more often than not. I typically keep my computer on all the time and only restart it when I'm experiencing issues in Firefox (about once every other day or as needed). I always load the same tabs I had previously open. The number of tabs varies anywhere from 50 - 125 tabs. I've noticed a loss in stability the more open tabs I have. So, I try to close some tabs every so often, to keep the number open to about 70. This seems to affect the stability of Firefox.

If I try to upload the attachment right after restarting Firefox (and it doesn't matter which version I have, since this has been happening consistently for months and months), I can upload with no problem at all. The frustration is that I'll write an email, Firefox has usually been open for a long time, and then when I go to upload an attachment, either a picture or a document, it just freezes. Then I lose my email, and I have to force Firefox to close in the Task Manager. Then, I have to rewrite my email - very frustrating when it is a long message! This never happens in Internet Explorer, but then again, I rarely use IE, because I prefer Firefox. I only use IE if Firefox is acting up - like YouTube videos keep stopping and starting.

What can I do to prevent Firefox from freezing?

I have Windows Vista 64 system.
