My laptop was fine last night. I tried to start it today and it will not boot up. The message says Windows failed to start-recent hardware or software change might be the cause. Insert Windows installation disc and restart.
I tried doing that and it still will not boot up and I get the same message.

Error reading the boot configuration data.

Help, please....Thanks so much!

I do have the Vista DVD. I was able to repair the system last night. I pressed the F12 key when turning on my computer. I changed it to open with CD/DVD. I then inserted the DVD, turned on the computer. It booted with the DVD. I clicked on repair, changed to English and followed the commands and I was back in. Woo Hoo! It was a major thing for me to do this. I realize it is nothing for most people, but it was great that I did it. Thanks for your inquiry....
