what sound card are you using?
you may need to update the drivers for your soundcard. the mixer device is referring to the software mixer, which combines system sounds, CD audio, game sounds, etc. may need to tweak whats happening there.
go to control panel, sound and audio devices, then the audio tab. make sure your sound card is selected for the playback device.
click the volume button, which will open up the mixer. make sure the sliders for play control, wav, cd audio, and midi are turned up and not muted.

the specs on your speakers look pretty good, especially that sub getting down to 40 hertz!
