I posted in the Malware forum to have my computer cleaned up and when asked to run Kaspersky Virus Scanner it wouldn't let me due to an issue with Java. That reminded me that I've had numerous errors related to java on this computer. I was referred here for this issue. I've unistalled and re installed java multiple times...Even used JavaRa.

The java website checks my comp and states that I do have the most recent update installed. When I click to check if it's working properly they give you an applet page. If you don't see it then they say you've got a problem and give you a list of ways to fix it. I've tried all the ways and I still can't see the applet or of course use the kaspersky scan.

There is one step though that I couldn't complete:

In order to enable java on my browser they want me to do this:
Internet Explorer 4.x and Up

Click "Tools" --> "Internet Options"
Select the Advanced Tab, and scroll down to "Java (Sun)"
Check the box next to the Java version
Next, select the Security Tab, and select the "Custom Level" button
Scroll down to "Scripting of Java applets"
Make sure the "Enable" radio button is checked.
Click OK to save your preference.

Well, in the advanced tab I see no "Java (Sun)" anywhere! Enable is checked though in the security tab.

My malware post is here: http://www.geekstogo...wn-t253023.html

Any advice/tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!
